Golf GTI

The Golf GTI is powered with a 2.0 Litre 4 pot (EA888) shared by many VAG group models like the Tiguan, Kodiaq, A4, Q5, Superb, etc. It produces 265 hp, and 370Nm of torque, and sends all that power to the front wheels. It's married to a 7-speed DSG which helps it go from 0-100 in just 5.9 Seconds! It's 0.4 seconds faster than the outgoing model and has 20 more horsepower. The Golf GTI is a hoot to drive, it comes with progressive steering, an electronically controlled front-axle differential lock, and an optional adaptive suspension,(Dynamic Chassis Control in the Skoda Kodiaq).

The Golf is a sleek-looking car and defines what a true hot-hatch is It comes with 18 inch-diamond cut alloy wheels, with optional 19-inch rims. It has a lot of sporty bits like the red brake calipers and the red strip just below the VW logo which is illuminated. It has very aggressive front and rear bumpers with massive air vents in the front to let it breathe. You get VW's signature Matrix LED headlamps and LED tail-lights which add to the character, tailpipes in the rear, and a dual-tone roof spoiler.

On the Inside, you get a 12.9-inch infotainment screen with touch, a GTI steering, tartan upholstery on the seats, GTI graphics on the MID, and the infotainment screen. The push-to-start button turns red just before the engine starts to dramatize your drive, whether you're going to fetch groceries, or on your way to a spirited drive at our nearest highway!

Pricing

The Golf is definitely not going to be cheap, it's expected to be priced around Rs. 40 Lakh ex-showroom. This puts it against the Mini Cooper S which also has a 2.0 Litre engine. Pricewise it also rivals the Audi A4, Audi Q3, and the BYD Seal.
