Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin Launched at Rs. 3.37 Lakhs!

Royal Enfield has launched the Classic 650 Twin, adding another model to its 650cc lineup in India on March 27, 2025, with prices starting at Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom).

Design and Features

The Classic 650 Twin is a bigger, more modern, and elegant version of the popular Classic 350. Retaining the classic design cues of the 350 while featuring a larger engine and modern amenities, it offers the best of both worlds.

It comes with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with a capacity of 14.8 liters, curved front fenders, and twin "pea shooter" exhaust pipes. Additionally, the wire-spoked wheels and retro-inspired LED headlamp blend vintage aesthetics with modern functionality. Royal Enfield is offering this bike in three variants—Hotrod, Classic, and Chrome—with color options including Bruntingthorpe Blue, Vallam Red, an exclusive Teal, and Premium Black Chrome.

Color Options

Regarding the colors Bruntingthorpe Blue and Vallam Red, Royal Enfield has cleverly chosen names that reflect its heritage. Bruntingthorpe is a location in Leicestershire, England, known for its airfield and proving ground, aligning with the brand’s British roots. This color further enhances the bike's vintage appeal.

Vallam Red, available in the Hotrod variant, gives the bike a bold and timeless look. Interestingly, it is named after Vallam, a town in Tamil Nadu, India. While Vallam is home to Royal Enfield’s manufacturing unit, the company has not officially confirmed this connection. Nonetheless, it remains an interesting coincidence.

Engine and Performance

Powering the Classic 650 Twin is the same 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine found in other Royal Enfield's 650 lineup. Known for its smooth power delivery, the engine produces 46.3 BHP at 7,250 RPM and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5,650 RPM. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slipper clutch, ensuring smooth and responsive performance while enhancing riding comfort.

The Classic 650 Twin is built on a steel tubular chassis, similar to the Shotgun 650. The suspension system consists of telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Weighing in at a substantial 243 kg (including 90% fuel and oil), it is the heaviest Royal Enfield motorcycle currently on sale.

Modern Features

The Classic 650 Twin comes equipped with a host of modern features, including LED headlamps and tail lamps for improved visibility, adjustable levers, a USB Type-C charging port, and the Tripper Navigation system for route guidance. Additionally, the bike is fitted with dual-channel ABS, ensuring confident braking performance.

Pricing and Availability

As mentioned, the Classic 650 Twin is priced at Rs 3.37 lakh (ex-showroom), with pricing varying by variant and color option. The exclusive Teal color is priced at Rs 3.41 lakh, while the top-tier Chrome variant in Black Chrome is available at Rs 3.5 lakh. Bookings commenced on March 27, 2025, and the waiting period for delivery is approximately 30 days, depending on the city and color choice.
