Land Rover Defender Octa: Pricing and Variants
Jaguar Land Rover has finally launched the Land Rover Defender Octa in India starting at a price of Rs 2.65 crore ex-showroom. Land Rover is also selling an Edition One variant of the same, geared more towards off-road performance, at Rs 2.79 crore, although it will only be available through the first year of production.
Distinctive Body Design and Dimensions
This is the most powerful version of the Defender and it is exclusively offered in the 110 body style (5-seater layout), besides it gets multiple changes from the exterior as compared to the standard car.
The Defender Octa is 68mm wider and 28mm taller than the standard Defender which enables it to achieve a water wading capacity of 1 meter, 100mm deeper than any Defender. The ground clearance on this model is at a whopping 323mm.

Exterior Styling and Visual Enhancements
Visual changes include redesigned bumpers for improved approach and departure angles, a new grille, and quad-tip exhausts, whose sound changes with the use of OCTA mode. Additionally, the SUV features extended wheel arches and new 22-inch wheels and tires. Land Rover states that the 838 mm diameter tire is the largest ever fitted to a Defender, contributing to a taller riding height.

Powerful Powertrain and Performance

It produces 626 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, which can be boosted to 800 Nm with the help of Dynamic Launch Control. With this feature enabled, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds, as claimed by Land Rover.
Advanced Suspension Technology
The Defender Octa gets a new, cutting-edge 6D dynamic suspension, which effectively manages to reduce the pitch and roll motion of the vehicle, making it more stable on tarmac and improving it's off-road capability.
Interior Features and Comfort
Inside the Defender, it is quite minimalistic, something similar to the standard car. It gets an 11.4 inch touchscreen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 15 speaker Meridian surround sound system, three-zone AC climate control with rear vents, keyless entry and a unique interior. It also features Land Rover's Body and Soul Seat audio technology that resonates the seats in sync with music being played via the infotainment system.
Safety and Advanced Technologies
