In a shocking revelation, sources have confirmed that Yuki Tsunoda, who currently races for Racing Bulls VCARB, will swap places with Liam Lawson and become the second driver for the Honda Red Bull F1 Team.
Following disappointing performances in the last two races—where Liam Lawson suffered a DNF in Australia and finished in a poor position at the Chinese Grand Prix—a high-level meeting was held in Dubai to discuss team management and the driver lineup, with Honda also present. After thorough consideration and review, and given Tsunoda’s impressive performances for VCARB in the past two races, the decision has been made for him to race for Honda Red Bull from the Japanese Grand Prix until the end of the 2025 season.

With Red Bull's second driver position historically unstable since Max Verstappen joined in 2016, several drivers have come and gone, including Daniil Kvyat, Daniel Ricciardo, Pierre Gasly, Alexander Albon, Sergio Pérez, and now Liam Lawson. Time will tell how well Yuki Tsunoda will perform in this highly scrutinized seat.
