New Toyota Camry Launched in India

The 9th generation Camry is at our shores! It launched globally a year ago, but it's here, and what a looker it is. The Camry has been launched at a hefty price tag, and some of you have clarified that you won't forget its commercial use in other countries. The new Camry has similar dimensions compared to its predecessor, measuring 4,915 mm in length, 1,839 mm in width, and 1,445 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.

Price

Regardless of its usage in other countries, the Camry was always marketed as a luxury sedan in India, owing to the Rs. 48 Lakh ex-showroom price making it Rs 1.83 Lakh costlier than the outgoing model.

Engine and Transmission

It also features a new 2.5-litre Dynamic Force Engine which makes 230 hp and 221Nm of torque, offered with an e-CVT and makes 12hp more than the outgoing model. It is married to Toyota's Fifth Generation Hybrid System claimed to return a 25.49 km/l! It also features a 10-speed Sequential Shift mode replicating driving a manual gearbox.

Exterior:

The exterior is BOLD! The face gets Toyota's "Hammerhead" styling, giving the Camry a sharp nose, narrow grille, thin LED headlights, and daytime running lamps. On the side, it still maintains the previous model's silhouette and has a fresh new design on the 18-inch alloys. Toyota also offers High Solar energy absorbing (HSEA) UV-CUT glass. Toyota offers 6 colour options: Precious Metal, Dark Blue, Cement Grey, Emotional Red, Attitude Black, and Platinum White Pearl.

Interior:

Stepping inside, Toyota offers a new 12.3-inch MID with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, ventilated front seats, and a dual-tone interior. The instrument cluster is fully digital and let's applaud Toyota for giving physical buttons! Driver and Passenger get a 10-way Power Adjust seat with Lumbar Support, with memory function for the driver. 3 zone climate control and the rear seats have power recline with easy access to the trunk, offered with a much-needed manual sunshade for our country. The rear armrest also features touch control for various functions. It boasts a nine-speaker JBL sound system and a 10-inch head-up display. And to top it all off a Moon Roof with Tilt and Slide Function.

Safety:

The Camry is offered with ADAS as standard, which Toyota calls "Toyota Safety Sense 3.0" The system comes with Radar-Based Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assistant, Road Sign Assist, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, and Automatic High Beam Assist. You get a 360-degree camera with both front and rear parking sensors and nine airbags in the cabin.
