Kia Syros Unveiled in India! Here's What You Should Know!

Kia Motors India has unveiled the new Syros, making it the 4th Made for India product after the Seltos, Carens, and Sonet. Kia has placed it between the Seltos and the Sonet, and bookings will commence on 3rd January.
The Syros SUV will be offered in 4 standard and 2 optional (O) variants: HTX+(O), HTX+, HTX, HTK+, HTK(O), and HTK.
Design
At first glance, it will remind you of the EV9, KIA's all-electric SUV. The front has a setup of vertical headlamps, Daytime running lights, a rugged bumper, and a tall bonnet to make it appear like a muscular SUV. It has a tall-boy design, with muscular wheel arches and a piano black finish on the C-Pillar to give it a floating roof effect. Oh, not to forget the Functional Roof Rails contributing to the "SUV" like look. You get what seems like dual-tone finishing on diamond-cut three-spoke alloy wheels and the rear gets high-mounted L-shaped LED Lights. So many design similarities with the EV9, that you'd think it's the younger sibling!

Dimensions
It's 3,995 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,665 mm tall. The wheelbase is 2550mm long, with 465 litres of boot space. It's placed in a very competitive market, with rivals like the Skoda Kushaq/Volkswagen Taigun, The Hyundai Creta, The XUV 3xO, The MG Astor, and The Tata Nexon to name a few.

Powertrain:
You get two engine options. A 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine pushing out 118 hp and 172Nm of torque and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel producing 116 hp and 250Nm of torque with three transmissions, a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.
Interior

The Syros has a 30-inch panoramic screen in the centre which houses the infotainment screen and the Digital Information Cluster. Kia has equipped this SUV well, you get wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a wireless charger, multi-zone climate control, push-button start/stop, a dedicated screen for AC controls, a Harmon Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, electronic parking brake, and a reclining 60:40 split seat to name a few.

Safety:
The Syros is equipped with Level 2 ADAS offered with 16 autonomous driving aids, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, 360 Degree Camera with Blind View Monitor and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go. The Syros is also equipped with 20 standard robust hi-safety features, such as Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist control, six airbags, Vehicle Stability Management, Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold etc.
