Honda To Launch 3 New Cars By FY27 - Based On ICE And Electric Powertrains
Honda Plans On Going Big- Elevate Based EV
Having recently launched the All New Amaze ( coughs- dzire ) , Honda's current lineup includes the City, Elevate and Amaze.
Honda is developing an All New Platform for its upcoming cars, codenamed FP2, which will include heavy localization which will in-turn reduce the costs.
The upcoming platform will support various powertrains, shapes and sizes which will help Honda reduce its overall R&D cost.
Honda's Unique Approach To Electrification:-
Unlike other manufacturers, Honda is not introducing a Born Electric Platform.
It will introduce Strong hybrid powertrain ( e:HEV ) and an electric SUV.
Details about the other 2 upcoming cars is very sparse but one of the cars is expected to be a 7 seater and will mostly use the current 1.5L NA engine and will feature a strong hybrid powertrain as well.
Other Upcoming Cars:-
The third car using the PF2 platform might be Sub-4m SUV challenging rivals such as Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, Mahindra 3X0, Skoda Kylaq, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon and also the recently unveiled Kia Syros.
This would be one of the most important cars for Honda.
Another launch would include an All New EV based on the PF2 platform. It would be the company's second EV after the Elevate.
Honda would be using the PF2 platform for its most popular sedan( City ) too and launch is expected in 2028-2029.
