Lexus GX: The Bold Return Of The Luxury Off-Roader

Lexus

The exterior of the 2025 Lexus GX is redesigned more muscular and much more aggressive as compared to the previous models of Lexus. The vehicle has now grown aspirational and assertive with larger lines more well-defined angles and unquestionable SUV looks. The spindle grille, which marks every Toyota, is more angular and upright now, which makes the GX look almost menacing. Bulging and muscular, the front gets a combination of neat and high-mounted LED cluster headlights along with Day Time Running lights that leave no doubt about the car’s character. The side part of the vehicle design is characterized by expressive wheel arches and a high ground clearance to show the audience the off-road potential of the vehicle. The trunk shares the same elegant design as the deck lid of the previous model but features full-width LED taillights and a dramatically different tailgate: side-hinged has been skipped in favor of a more practical liftgate.

A new design reflects elegance and durability at the same time that enables the GX to fit the urban and off-road contexts.

Inside the 2025 Lexus GX, you see an interior that represents richness and utility all at once. Lexus has been precise in designing a cabin, which is luxurious and cultivated for both long drives and rough terrains. Since then, the design of the cabin used high-quality materials such as soft-touch leather, real wood, and brushed metal. More variants have semi-aniline leather upholstery and open-pore wood which give it that commanding and elegant look.

The interior design is commanded by the largest possible 14-inch infotainment system with the latest Lexus interface, wireless Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and Mark Levinson sound system. A configurable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster that helps the driver in providing lively and significant display information. The interior design follows a wealthy and comfortable as well as high-technology image, which is characteristic of the Lexus brand and ensures pleasant and comfortable driving both on and off the road.

Major changes can be found beneath the skin of the 2025 Lexus GX. While coming with a new generation, Lexus has done away with the old V8 engine for a new twin-turbo V6 that is more powerful and efficient. This new engine brings in 349 horsepower and 649NM of torque and for this model, power is much improved over the previous model.

With a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission, the acceleration efficiency is matched with boosts in fuel economy in the GX. This, coupled with full-time four-wheel drive standard across all trims, means the GX is set for tough ground whenever. This has given the GX a lot of power together with prowess and elegance that makes it one of the most competent off-road vehicles on the market. Although the twin-turbo V6 is more efficient than the previous V8, the car’s fuel economy has not been released yet. However, there are claims that Lexus is currently developing a hybrid version to enhance the fuel economy and emissions to achieve the brand’s electrification purposes.

Until now, Lexus has not revealed the official figures regarding the 2025 GX pricing, but automotive forecasters estimate the cost to be around ₹75 lakh ($60,000) for the basic type and ₹ 1 crore ($80,000) for off-road and luxury versions.

The Lexus 2025 GX is a statement vehicle from Lexus showing that luxury, comfort, and SUV adventure doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive. Emerging with an aggressive new design, twin-turbocharged engine, top hi-tech features, and off-road capabilities, the new GX is believed to retake the market leadership among luxury SUVs. It may further fixate the car more into the luxury class defying some of the value-for-money concepts that came with the GX.

Nonetheless, because of improvements in the engine, the GX may barely lose ground to rivals in terms of efficiency, and there’s no hybrid model in the pipeline yet.

This is likely to be a disadvantage in urban areas because of its size might not be very convenient for an urbanite.

For those people who require a third row of seats for their children or passengers, it surely comes at the cost of a much smaller cargo space.
