Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Teased
Maruti Suzuki is going all guns- blazing with its all new e Vitara which is also Maruti's first EV.
Maruti E Vitara To Take On Rivals Such As Creta EV, BE 6E, Zs EV, Curvv EV:-
Previously known as the eVX concept, Maruti has adopted an unique approach by following the concept's design cues ( Tata, Mahindra being other such brands ).
It was initially unveiled a few weeks ago in Italy, but will first be revealed on Indian shores on January 17th during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and ironically its arch rival ( Creta EV ) is also scheduled to be launched on the same day. Quite a coincidence!!
- The e Vitara is built on an all- new skateboard platform co-developed with Toyota. Toyota will also be launching its version known as Urban Cruiser EV in 2025.
Both the models will also be exported to overseas markets
DESIGN:-
As mentioned, the design is based on the eVX concept. It features a single-piece grill at the front with the Suzuki Logo with an integrated Tri-Slash DRLs and Projectord LED headlights with Projector Fog Lights below and body- cladding all along.
On the Sides, the mascular body has been retained with a generous use of dark- cladding which rides on chunky 19inch tyres on the top-spec trim with lesser models getting 18 inch rims. The rear-door handles has moved to the C-Pillar .
The rear gets a wraparound tail lights and cladding down below.
FEATURES:-
Inside the e Vitara gets a dual-screen layout and a 2-spoke steering wheel with soft-touch materials.
Its equipped with ADAS, Auto climate control, Part fabric -part Leatherrete upholstery, Drive Modes, Electronic Parking Brake amongst others.
POWERTRAIN:-
The e Vitara will be introduced with 3 powertrain options.
A smaller 49kWh battery with its single motor in the front axle produces 144BHP and a larger 61kWh battery produces 174BHP with both these verisons producing 189NM.
The third configuration adds an another motor in the rear axle and the combined output is 184BHP and 300NM in All- Wheel drive format( All Grip-e)
PRICE:-
The e Vitara is likely to start around 20 Lakh INR for the base versions.
Models with the 61kWh battery is expected to be priced at around 25 Lakh rupees and the fully-loaded All-Wheel Drive variant will move closer to the 30 Lakh mark and will be on sale through Maruti's premium dealerships known as NEXA.
More details on bookings, pricing, and delivery are expected to be revealed closer to its India debut. Apart from showing the e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki has also hinted at announcing its plans for accessible charging infrastructure across the country.
RANGE:-
Maruti is known for its efficiency and will be interesting to see if the mileage experts can eek out 500-600 kms of range.
