BYD Sealion 7 to be Unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

BYD India will unveil the BYD Sealion 7 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025! It is based on the same Skateboard Architecture as its sedan counterpart the BYD Seal. BYD has 3 vehicles on sale in India: The ATTO3, the EMAX 7, and the Seal. The Chinese manufacturer is trying to build a strong presence in the Indian Market. With the unveiling of the Sealion 7, BYD will have 4 cars for buyers to choose from an MPV, a compact SUV, a quick sedan, and this Coupe SUV.

Design

The Sealion 7 made its global debut in November Last Year, and you can expect it to hit the roads in the first half of 2025. It has an SUV-like stance while maintaining all the design features of the Seal. It is also 30mm longer and 160mm taller than the Seal. Designed by Mr. Wolfgang Egger the Sealion 7 sports a sloping roofline and incorporates the "Ocean X" design giving the vehicle a futuristic look. You get 19 and 20-inch rims according to the model you buy which look sharp. Although looks are subjective, you would agree with me that it is a handsome-looking car!

Battery and Performance

The Sealion 7 is offered with single-motor RWD and Dual-Motor AWD versions similar to the Seal. The single motor setup pushes 302 HP and the AWD pushes 523 hp which makes it a very tempting vehicle! Powering those motors are 82.5 kWh and 91.3 kWh battery packs which offer a range of 482 km and 456 km from the 82.5 kWh and 502 Km (WLTP) range from the 91.3 kWh pack. (The bigger pack comes only with AWD) BYD claims that the Sealion 7 AWD can go from 0-100 in just 4.5 Seconds! BYD states that these motors reach up to 23000 RPM, YES you read it right! The Sealion 7's top speed is limited to 215 Km/h. Exciting specs for sure.

BYD Sealion 7 gets 11 kW three-phase AC charging as standard with the option of DC fast charging. Using a 150 kW DC fast charger, the batteries can be juiced up from 10% to 80% in just 32 minutes. Do you think the BYD Sealion will be a success?
