Audi India Opens Bookings for the New Audi RSQ8 Performance

Audi India is accepting bookings for the Audi RSQ8 Performance, powered by a 4.0 Litre twin turbo V8 engine producing a whopping 640 HP and 850 Nm of torque, shooting the car from 0-100 in just 3.6 seconds for an SUV that weighs 2.5 TONS.
India is finally seeing a rise in OEMs launching high-performance cars, and I am all for it. The RSQ8 Performance claims to be Audi Sport's most powerful combustion model, with the optional package, it can reach a top speed of 305 km/h.

What's New?
The RS Q8 performance makes its statement as the series's flagship with a bold new front apron featuring distinctive air intakes, a honeycomb structure, and a matte grey blade. Up front, the iconic Singleframe grille now sports a reimagined design with each honeycomb cell rendered in a striking three-dimensional finish. At the rear, the story continues with two aggressive oval tailpipes flanking a sharp diffuser, which is further emphasized by a wedge-shaped reflector, cementing its place at the top of the lineup.

The newly developed, lighter exhaust system on the RS Q8 Performance reduces back pressure, unlocking more power from the 4.0L biturbo V8. It also delivers a sportier, more thrilling exhaust note. For those who crave an even louder and more intense sound experience, there’s the optional RS sport exhaust system, featuring glossy black tailpipes that add to the drama.

The RS Q8 Performance is equipped with RS-tuned adaptive air suspension as standard, offering a balance between sportiness and comfort. Specifically designed for this model, the suspension system allows for a ride height adjustment of up to 3.5 inches (90 mm), providing versatility across various driving conditions.

Another key feature is the electromechanical active roll stabilization (eAWS), which helps minimize lateral body movement. Each axle includes an electric motor connecting the two halves of the stabilizer bar. When driving straight, the system disengages the stabilizers to reduce body-pitch movements on uneven surfaces. During cornering, the electric motors twist the stabilizers in opposite directions to reduce lateral tilt or body lean. The system is powered by a 48-volt lithium-ion battery, designed to deliver up to 1.5 kilowatts of power to each motor.

The model also comes with standard all-wheel steering, which enhances both agility and stability. At higher speeds, the rear wheels turn up to 1.5 degrees in the same direction as the front wheels to improve stability during quick lane changes. At lower speeds, the rear wheels can turn up to 5 degrees in the opposite direction, reducing the turning radius and improving maneuverability in tight spaces.
These features work together to provide a combination of handling, stability, and versatility suited to a range of driving situations.
